Nordheim is in the mountain village of Vats in the town of Ål - 800 m above sea level, West in the Hallingdal valley. Situated at the forest boundary and only 6km to the mountain plateau.
One of the highest points in Ål is the peak of Reineskarvet mountain plateau (1780 m above sea level).
Ål is centrally situated between Oslo and Bergen, with the Bergen railway and Highway 7 the most important transport routes.
The Mountains around Nordheim are fantastic, with short distances to spectacular mountain areas. If the winds take overhand in the mountains we have the forest tracks/areas outside the lodge as an alternative.

How to get here
Nordheim is in the town of Ål - in the halfway East and West Norway /Oslo & Bergen.
By car
From Oslo approx 240 km, from Bergen approx 285 km. From Ål to Nordheim 24km
Follow highway 7 to the junction for Vats (2 km east from Ål or 22 km west from Gol), turn to the right and follow 242 to Nordheim Fjellstue.
Follow the road 22 km, first left and 500m on the left you are at Nordheim - Welcome.
By train
Take the train to Ål train station for traintimetables NSB.
Most of the trains correspondere with buss to Bergsjø. Check with us.
By buss
Daily departures to and from Ål. From Ål 11.30 & 14.50 return 13.00 og 16.30
