Nordheim is situated in the village of Vats in the town of Ål , 800m above sea level. Near the forest boundary and only 6 km to the mountain plateaus. The highest plateau in Ål is the top of the Reineskarvet plateau (1780 m above sea level).
The town/village of Ål lies central between Oslo and Bergen. With the Bergen railway line and Highway 7 as the main transport amenities it is easily accessible.
The mountains around Ål are fantastic, and it is only a short distance to superb mountain areas. If the bad weather takes its toll in the mountains the forest tracks or areas outside the lodge are a great alternative.
